Sorry to hear about your fathers departure. Indeed, it’s in the ‘clean up’ we actually become more acquainted with our departed loved one. Trust you are finding moments of respite in the midst of such a heart wrenching time.

Dear Catherine, you’ve been showing up at my tricky times for a good while now. Thank you for that. Yes, dad’s detritus is like a tiny Titannic. I feel I should photograph every artefact before jettisoning it. But I don’t think his use-by 2001 HP Sauce will garner much interest beyond his kitchen. I think this is going to take a while …
